| THE MOODY MANSION SURVIVES THE GREAT STORM OF 1900 Galveston, TX The Richardsonian Romanesque-style (late Victorian period) mansion was originally designed by William H. Tyndall. The 28,000 square foot, four-story house was completed in 1895, only five years before the devastating hurricane. A reason it survived the storm may be that it was one of the first homes in Texas to be built on a steel frame. |
